Following a long period of anticipation, the battle royale mode for Battlefield 6 is finally launching. Last week's rumors claiming its debut would happen alongside Season 1 were accurate. Fans can access the gameplay starting very soon.

Possibly the biggest detail is that the battle royale mode will be F2P. Similar to established games, you won't require to buy the base game to participate. Some participants have previously experienced alpha versions of the game type. These trials were run in a collaborative space, which the developers described as their largest community collaboration initiative.

The heart-pounding excitement while fighting opposing teams can't be found in any other BR game. It's like do or die, and you actually care if you die or survive.

Despite being a critic beforehand, I'm now for the BR mode after playing it.

These first impressions from players have been very positive. Certainly, the experience may have evolved over the last month or two in terms of tuning and tempo. Still, initial indicators are strong that the battle royale could be a genuine competitor to established games.
