Defiant Wilfried Nancy does not fear being fired yet supporters show fury following defeat.
The under-pressure manager declared he did not fear dismissal, asserting, “The team is extremely close to things turning around,” in the wake of sliding worryingly close to being fired with a convincing defeat by the Ibrox side.
Another Meltdown Results in Old Firm Disaster
Celtic had led the visitors at the break but a disastrous second period let Danny Röhl’s team to move level on points with the current Scottish Premiership champions. The French coach, who was hired from Columbus Crew, has now overseen six losses in eight games.

Questioned about the speculation, Nancy responded: “It’s not on my mind. I think about working out methods to get the team to improve on details.

“Wins and losses [that leads to pressure]. And that’s the truth for the moment. However in stating this is the reality, it doesn’t mean that I am giving up. Absolutely not. What I mean we are on the cusp, extremely close to change the narrative.”
Nancy’s Persistent Belief
He highlights the fact Celtic play well for a half at a time. Indeed, were it not for missed chances they could have been more than 1-0 up. “I saw enough except the fact that we didn't take more goals,” he said. “I know that we lost, but I must remain objective.
“The standard we had at times was of top quality. That is a fact. And I would not talk like that if it was different. But that’s why, in terms of results, I said we've seen this before. Which is why I believe we are really close to getting it right. Currently: small things.”
“I saw many, many good things that we did, once more. But now comes down to consistency. My message would not be the same. Therefore I firmly believe we will manage to get back on track.”
Opposition Reaction Outlook
Rangers manager was cautious about a serious challenge in spite of what felt like a statement victory. “We take it game by game, so we can gradually build a challenge,” he said. “The faith in the squad is outstanding.”
