Ex- Physician Charged with Assault Allegations Against 38 Patients
Prosecutors have stated that a former doctor now faces charges for committing sexual assaults against thirty-eight victims who were under his care.
Details of the Grave Allegations
Nathaniel Spencer from Birmingham is accused of numerous acts of sexual assault – including some against children younger than 13 – between 2017 and 2021.
A deputy chief prosecutor commented, “Our prosecutors have worked at length to support a thorough and intricate police inquiry, carefully reviewing the available evidence to determine that there is sufficient evidence to proceed to trial and that it is in the public interest.”
The Investigation
These allegations follow what police called a “complex investigation” into reported assaults at two hospitals: the Royal Stoke university hospital and a facility in Dudley.
Spencer is due to appear at the North Staffordshire justice centre on January 20th.
List of Charges
The charging documents said the 45 charges he is charged with:
- 15 counts of sexual assault.
- 17 counts of assault by penetration.
- Nine counts of sexual assault of a child under 13.
- Three counts of assault of a child under 13 by penetration.
- One count of attempted penetrative assault.
