Football Expert Chris Sutton Battles Singer Murs in Top Flight Forecasts

The Gunners' 10-game victorious streak was ended by the Black Cats before the global break, but can the Premier League leaders recover against north London rivals Tottenham this Sunday?

"{I believe like Arsenal are light years ahead of Tottenham at the moment but Spurs manager Thomas Frank will have a plan for this game," remarked soccer expert Chris Sutton.

"Frank will try to neutralize Arsenal, who have not always been at their sparkling best this season - but Mikel Arteta's team usually still manage to win."

The analyst is making predictions for all 380 Premier League games this season, versus artificial intelligence, readers and a range of guests.

For week 12, he takes on singer Olly Murs, who is a United supporter.

Murs' latest record, Knees Up, is available on the weekend.

Soccer and Family Experiences

Murs is a talented soccer player as well as a successful artist and has been a star of several charity football games over time - but he is not planning a serious return as a player.

"{I actually played in a charity game the other evening for a friend of mine," he said. "My team was losing 3-1 when I was substituted in the 60th minute, and they proceeded to win 4-3, so you can interpret that what you want!

"I still love football, but I hurt my joint a few years ago and it even now hasn't fully recovered. I hope I could play more but the uncertainty of the sport means it's too dangerous for me in my career to do it seriously again.

"Additionally I am 41 now, and we are not everyone is Cristiano Ronaldo, are we!? No, I am very content not playing football and I am gearing up for the moment that my daughter or boy chooses to play instead."

Murs and his spouse Amelia Tank have a young family, Madison and Albert, and he is ready to emulate his dad by becoming their coach.

"I will not force football on our children but I've already told Amelia that if they do get the passion for it then I will have to go and get my coaching badges - and I will probably be coaching their Saturday football side," he added.

"I watched my relatives play a lot, and I truly got into it, and I clearly was involved with a football club for a while too.

"My dad did it with us when I was a kid, which is likely where I inherited it. He managed our team for several seasons and had great fun with it. That might be the next step for me as well, and I am looking forward to it!"

Top Division Predictions

Weekend, 22 November

  • Turf Moor, 12:30 GMT

Chelsea may have to be patient for Cole Palmer's comeback from injury but their attack is already stronger with Pedro and Liam Delap both back fit.

In my opinion this game will be fairly tight, though. Burnley are disciplined and their sole home defeats so far have been against the Reds and the Gunners.

This smells of a 1-1 draw to me, but I am actually going to choose the London side to win narrowly for what would be their third league win in a row.

The expert's forecast: 1-2

The singer's pick: The Blues will be too strong. 1-3

Artificial intelligence's prediction: 0-2

  • Vitality Stadium, 15:00 GMT

The Cherries have lost their past two matches - albeit both of them were on the road - but they got absolutely spanked by Villa last time out which shocked me.

On the other hand, the Hammers won two in a row before the international break and, although both of those fixtures were at home, they do look strong again.

The Hammers' only away victory this season came at Nottingham Forest in the summer, when West Ham boss Nuno Espirito Santo was previously that team's manager.

So, what on earth do I go with here - will it be West Ham extending their run under their manager, or Bournemouth responding?

I will choose Bournemouth, because I think what happened against Villa was a blip.

The pundit's prediction: 2-0

Olly's prediction: Bournemouth are performing strongly but the visitors have picked up under Nuno. 2-2

The algorithm's pick: 1-1

  • Amex Stadium, 15:00 GMT

Brentford were seen as one of the favourites for the drop before the campaign began, but they have surprised a few people under Keith Andrews and are in good form with three in their last four matches.

My son advised me to get Bees striker Thiago in my fantasy soccer squad a few weeks ago and, unfortunately, I ignored the advice.

The forward will probably find the net again on the weekend but I am nonetheless not going to select him or support Brentford at Amex Stadium.

The Bees have not had much fortune on the travel this season, and Brighton are always strong at their stadium. Brentford will try to hit them on the break but I think the home manager's side carry much more of a threat.

Sutton's forecast: 2-1

The singer's prediction: It could be one of those games where you think there is going to be a many scores but it in reality proves to be rather tight. 1-1

AI's outcome: 2-1

  • Craven Cottage, 15:00 GMT

It is a massive game for Fulham, who have suffered defeat in five of their past six games.

Fulham have have lots of talent in their squad but it still feels like they could be dragged into a drop zone fight.

Regarding the Black Cats, indeed they are the unexpected success of the Premier League season so far.

The away side's performance in the two-all tie with Arsenal last time out was excellent. We've not seen any other team rough up the North London side like that this season, and they were more than a match for them.

The logical choice to do to back the Black Cats here, because they are obviously able of roughing Fulham up too and, the previous occasion they were in this part of London, they defeated Chelsea at the end of last month.

However I am not do that. Rather, I truly need to carry on going against the away team with my forecasts. I am taking a lot of credit for their good results because they evidently enjoy to defy my predictions.

Looking at Fulham's at Craven Cottage form, the only team they have been defeated by is the league leaders. Their manager's team will be absolutely eager for a good outcome, so I am going to say they will secure three much-needed points.

The expert's forecast: 1-0

The guest's prediction: I'm aware Sunderland are performing strongly and also that the hosts are on a poor run... but they have still been decent at home this season. 2-0

AI's outlook: 2-0

  • Anfield, 15:00 GMT

It is a hard one to call. Liverpool have suffered seven of their past 10 games in every tournament, but could they be one of the sides who benefit from the {international break|
