The Spanish giants acquired Trent Alexander-Arnold with a long-term agreement

Trent Alexander-Arnold's recovery is moving forward well, giving hope that the Madrid defender could return soon enough to face his previous club Liverpool in the upcoming Champions League tie.

The English international suffered a muscle injury during a match against Ligue 1 side Marseille in the group stage of the competition on September 16.

Alexander-Arnold had to leave the pitch in the fifth minute, with initial estimates suggesting a possible layoff of up to six weeks.

Real Madrid are set to play at Liverpool on 4 November for the Champions League match—precisely seven weeks since the injury occurred.

Reports close to the player's condition state that the defender's comeback is advancing well, and there is hope that Alexander-Arnold might make his initial appearance to Liverpool's stadium since joining Los Blancos in the summer.

A lifelong Liverpool supporter, Alexander-Arnold previously remarked that departing from the club he joined as a young youth player was the "hardest choice he's ever taken."

During his spell with the Reds, Alexander-Arnold notched 354 games, contributing to win multiple Premier League championships, a Champions League, and the domestic cup.

Since joining to the Spanish capital, Alexander-Arnold has appeared five times in all competitions, totaling over two and a half hours of action.
