Approximately twenty-five thousand homes in southeastern Queensland found themselves without power on Monday's dawn after powerful weather events impacted the state, bringing powerful gusts topping 109km/h.
Massive Hailstones and Widespread Impact
Locals witnessed substantial frozen pellets measuring up to 7cm in certain regions. The Bureau of Meteorology confirmed that different parts across the state had been hit with significant hail.

State Emergency Services responded to over five hundred requests for assistance across the state, primarily for structural issues but also for downed trees and inundation.

The following day was forecast to be the heaviest precipitation period, with persistent storm activity anticipated across various areas of both states.
