Both are being considered with the manager's job at the Scottish champions following the former manager's departure on Monday.

The Manager's Position on Celtic

The Ipswich boss referred to Celtic as "a really big soccer institution" but emphasized he is "in the middle" of a "long-term project" with the Championship side.

The mid-thirties took charge of Portman Road in 2021 and guided the team to the English top flight with consecutive elevations, but they won just a handful of victories last campaign as they were demoted back to the second division and they presently occupy twelfth place in England's second tier.

"There have been such discussions," the English capital native ex- Irish young player said when asked about being on Celtic's shortlist.

"This isn't a matter I have given any thought to, or where any portion of my concentration is currently.

"I have a unique position here at a remarkable team. And we're at a really important stage of the season. Anything outside of that hasn't reached my awareness."

Background and Agreement Details

Reports indicate that the manager would be willing to talk to the Scottish side given his boyhood allegiances.

"Growing up, we all have our preferences," he said when questioned about those. "It's unlikely all people has to go around and declare what they were, but naturally it's a really big sports organization."

The coach signed a new four-year contract in last year and was asked about his alleged £5m release clause.

"In every manager's contract, there are things," he responded. "I'm unaware what my specific terms are and, if I did, I wouldn't tell you regardless!

"I tackle this role like I will remain Town's coach indefinitely. I know that's not always going to be the case, but I will consistently give maximum effort as long as I remain in position."

Bellamy's Position

Bellamy played for Celtic on loan from Newcastle United in the mid-2000s, but the former Welsh striker is minded to finish the ongoing World Cup campaign, a stance that would practically eliminate the 46-year-old from immediately taking the Celtic job.

Wales are currently in third place in their qualifying group behind group toppers Belgium and second-placed Macedonia.

Wins over Liechtenstein and North Macedonia in November would book their position in the final qualifying round, but they are all but assured of making those, thanks to a successful Nations League campaign, even if they fail to finish as their group second place.

Considering his current position, the Wales manager, whose contract concludes after Euro 2028, would not be available until following the play-offs at the earliest.
