That Gory Animated Movie Ending That Stays With Viewers

Out of all the adult-oriented animated films I have ever watched, no other has remained with me as much as the fear-filled finale of a graphically gory and deeply subversive film from 2022 Unicorn Wars.

Back in the year 2015, this Spanish filmmaker developed a grim, melancholy and often savage world with a few small , desolate hints of hope.

Although The Unicorn Wars seems like it came from a desire to advance the medium further, the director explained that it was more an effort to express a universal, cross-cultural theme about “the shared root of all wars.”

That idea is expressed by means of a band of brightly hued teddy bears , clearly based on a popular series of lovable characters.

Maturing in a community focused on warmongering as well as the military-industrial complex, many of these animals are fixated on killing unicorns, because of a sacred text that tells them they were once kings of the forest, before the horned beings expelled them.

A few haven’t fully fallen for the indoctrination, and choose to sample narcotics or fornicate in the forest.

Unlike their friendly counterparts, these vivid animals show genitals , definite libidos.

For a certain notably brutal, skeptical animal, the bear named Bluey, the conflict with unicorns transforms into a road toward dominance — and specifically to authority over his more tender, kinder brother the bear Tubby.

Bluey acts as a tormentor and an obvious psychopath , and while fear takes over his squad and claims his comrades sequentially, he seizes more and more power personally, via progressively violent, damaging approaches.

At the same time, these mythical beings are enduring their own nightmare, in the form of an expanding, destructive monster in their forest.

“At the beginning, it seems like a lighthearted film,” the director said. “However it evolves into a more dramatic and melancholic movie. And by the end, it transforms into a scary feature.”

The Unicorn Wars begins similar to among the quirky features by an iconic filmmaker, which find a mischievous joy in allowing cartoon characters curse, fire weapons, or sex each other up.

Afterward it turns into more akin to a darker film from that director, including ever more visual gore , a tangible link to genuine horror of conflict.

In the finale, it is a complete Grand Guignol carnage.

The fear that makes the film a Halloween-friendly viewing starts a lot earlier than one might expect.

The Unicorn Wars is ideal for the most dedicated fans of gore, for fans of graphic films who wish to see a film they have not viewed until now, and who can handle a narrative that pulls absolutely no punches.

See it with the lights off free from interruptions, and the conclusion will burrow into your mind and take up residence there.
