The former Liverpool manager admits coming back to manage Liverpool is theoretically possible.

Jurgen Klopp, who left Liverpool in 2024, remarked that rejoining the club remains a possibility. The 58-year-old, following a hugely successful nine-year spell that included continental glory and ending the club's long wait for three decades, currently occupies roles as head of global soccer with the Red Bull group and in an advisory capacity with the German Football League.

Fan Sentiment and Klopp’s Candid Remarks

The club claimed the Premier League under Arne Slot, though countless followers holding him in high esteem would be thrilled by the notion that he may eventually return. Speaking candidly, he shared with Steven Bartlett: “I declared I will never coach a different club in England. Therefore in case it's my former club...absolutely. It's plausible.”

“I’m 58, that means I might decide in a few years, who knows. Must I choose now? Then I will not coach again. But thank God, I don’t have to do that. I'll simply watch how things unfold.”

Conditions for a Comeback

When asked about which situations must arise to tempt his return to the dugout, Klopp admitted he feels no immediate pull to such a return. “It's unclear to me, I love what I do right now,” he commented. “I don’t miss coaching; No desire to be under bad weather for lengthy sessions; No need for press conferences four times, three times a week or having 10-12 interviews weekly.

“The locker room isn't missed in that context, however, dining out alongside the squad talking freely, is pleasant. With many victories meaning regularly great spirits in the building. I still have the captain's chuckle vividly recalled to illustrate.”

Commending Arne Slot

Klopp was full of praise of the current boss, acknowledging his role due to the changes which secured the championship in the previous season. They've been defeated four consecutive matches in every contest following significant transfers, though he denied the notion of it representing the start of a downward turn.

“[Liverpool have] a phenomenal forward like Florian Wirtz, doubters will be silenced if spoken against. A remarkable prospect. Ekitike, superb talent. It’s a really good thoughtfully assembled roster. No need for concern regarding the Reds, they'll bounce back.”

Heartfelt Words for Diogo Jota

The manager expressed deep feeling regarding the passing of the Portuguese star, a player he signed while in charge, along with the consequences at the club. Jota was killed in a vehicle collision with his brother in July.

“How do you replace somebody like Diogo? This isn't just regarding the player himself, it’s the guy he was. It's hard to picture the team environment without him in it. I still cannot speak properly regarding this. It was an incredible shock for all the boys as well. Nobody at Liverpool will ever use it to justify results yet it's the reality. Being in that space where his spirit remains. Dealing with that emotionally is challenging. Impossible.”
